Plot: Russel Greene has a wonderful life. He has a beautiful wife and a lovely daughter, and a perfect job. But Russel wanted something else, he wants to start his own business, and that’s what he did. He quits his job and started his own company. And that’s when everything started to fall apart.
He finds himself torn between his new work and taking care of his daughter. The difficulties seem to be never-ending and he is heartbroken when he loses the person whom he has loved the most. Russel’s perfect life is not perfect anymore. But still, he goes on because that’s what life is all about.
In between these problems, Russel realizes how his life is not flawless but still, it is beautiful with his daughter and his sister, and how his relationship with these two women has made him stronger and better.
My Views: This was my second book by Nicholas Sparks first being ‘The Notebook’. And I must say I enjoyed reading this book more than ‘The Notebook’. I loved the story, I loved how Russel managed his life. He thought of a happy future with his wife and daughter. But everything crashed down and he just has to keep moving on for his daughter.
The book started really well, very well written. Though there were times when I felt that book is a little bit slow, but the story kept me going on. When it comes to language, I would say it is on the easier side.
This book taught me the importance of moving on, to accept the problems which life throws at you, and still make it beautiful. We all face problems in life, sometimes we get disheartened sometimes are all broke, but we forget that we have a gift of life. This book managed to remind me that life is beautiful in its own way.
Overall I would say I loved reading this book. This book has everything, love, togetherness, fear, grief and anger.
Recommendation: If you like losing yourself in love stories, emotions, you’ll love this book. This book is not just about love between a husband and wife, it is also about the love and relationship between a father and a daughter, brother and sister and much more.
