It ranked No 1 among the best tourist and pilgrimage spot in Delhi (SURVEY-2017). The gurdwara’s architecture is quite large, covered by a golden dome with a sculpted bronze cupola and a tall flagpole, Nishan Sahib. Throughout the day, soothing Gurbani (devotional music) echoes in the Gurudwara. Located next to it is the Sacred Heart Cathedral.

The Gurdwara and its Sarovar are now a place of great reverence for Sikhs, and a place for the special congregation on the birth anniversary of Guru Har Krishan. The water of the pond is considered very holy and is known as “Amrit”. It is believed that the water has miraculous healing powers. Most of the devotees coming to this holy shrine take a holy dip in the Sarovar before entering the main shrine.

The complex also houses a higher secondary school, Baba Baghel Singh Museum, a library and a hospital. The Gurudwara and Langar Hall are now air-conditioned. A new “Yatri Niwas” (Travellers Hostel), and multi-level parking space have been constructed. Toilet facilities are available. The space around the back entrance to the Gurudwara is also being spruced up, so as to give a better view from the roadside.
