Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi held Baal Mela today, an event with cultural fest and fun fete, a day full of fun and frolic. Besides providing moments of joy and mirth for the children through cultural shows, educational and entertaining activities, this annual event provides a unique setting for cultural integration. The fair, held at the Tagore Quadrangle, made the premises more vibrant and cheerful. The children enjoyed the games, food and various other activities.

The idea behind the Mela had been to create bend of children to fore and encourage the talent in them. Students were given a free hand in creative and constructive activities. CIE students, school children, and the faculty could be seen enjoying ‘Vada Pav’, ‘Finding the key to the lock game’, ‘Word Antakshari’, etc. which were the attractions of Mela. It is all about encouraging students to have experience in various fields apart from book knowledge. Mela was meticulously planned by the students and staff.

Expressing delight over co-operation of students and teachers, the Mela reinvented the ways of enjoying with learning. The Baal Mela was arranged in different sections like the food stalls, games, and educational activities. The oriented students were assigned stalls which were visited by children from neighboring CIE Experimental School.

CIE students put up various food stalls offering a variety of lip smacking snacks. They also played some foot tapping music to invite children to their stalls. Students took turns to shake a leg with the children.
